Mallorca is probably the ultimate holiday island! Fantastic for families and with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere that embodies everything that is great about Spain. There’s plenty to see, do and eat here.
The more adventurous among you – or those looking for the quietest beaches – should explore the north coast. Here you’ll find fantastic places that are only accessible by feet, such as Es Canyaret, a beach near the village of Llucalari known for its waterfall and refreshing mud pools. Port des Canonge, a secluded spot east of the old, terraced village of Banyalbufar. The stunning Coll Baix cove is fringed by cliffs and has spectacular turquoise waters.
If you’re in the area, be sure to visit the coastal village of Deia. It has attracted writers and musicians for decades, and when you see it, you’ll understand why. It’s a charming jigsaw of traditional flat-roofed houses and lush gardens.
On the other side of the island, you can have an underground adventure in the stunning Caves del Drach. The tour takes you over a kilometre past clear pools of water and intricate rock formations to Lake Martel – a 170-metre-long underground lake. It is definitely worth taking a boat trip. Thanks to well-maintained and lit paths and a temperature of over 20°C, you don’t have to be an experienced spelunker to enjoy the lake.
If you like scenic drives, head from Valdemossa to Sa Calobra or visit the charming town of Estellencs and head for a hidden cala. Be sure to bring a little picnic, you will enjoy it.
Finally – if you’re on the long road through the Tramuntana mountains that runs east to west, stop for lunch in Es Grau. Enjoy the delicious delicacies and the absolutely breathtaking views.
Parktiger wishes you an unforgettable holiday.
